Baby Pumpkin Purée with Thyme
Comforting, creamy and gently aromatic.
This pumpkin purée with a hint of thyme is a soft, nourishing way to introduce new flavours to your little one. Make a batch, then store it the smarter way in your Consol Glass Preserve Jar (250ml) or Consol Glass Madrid Baby Container (130ml) - keeping every spoonful fresh, pure and exactly as you made it.
Ingredients:
-
1 Small pumpkin
-
1/2 tsp Fresh thyme, roughly chopped
-
1-2 cups Liquid - water, breast milk, formula, or stock
-
1 tsp Olive oil (optional)
Method:
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper or a silicone mat.
-
Carefully slice off the top of the pumpkin, then cut it in half lengthways. Scoop out the seeds and strings.
-
Cut the pumpkin into smaller chunks and place them skin-side down on the baking tray. Lightly brush with olive oil, if using.
-
Roast for 45- 60 minutes, or until the flesh is very tender and easily pierced with a fork.
-
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly, then peel away the skin.
-
Transfer the pumpkin to a blender or food processor, then add the thyme and blend together until smooth.
-
Gradually add liquid (¼ cup at a time), blending until you reach a silky, baby-friendly consistency.
-
Let the purée cool completely before serving or storing in a Consol Glass Preserve Jar (250ml) or Consol Glass Madrid Round Baby Container (130ml).
