Baby Pumpkin Purée with Thyme

Baby Pumpkin Purée with Thyme

Comforting, creamy and gently aromatic.

This pumpkin purée with a hint of thyme is a soft, nourishing way to introduce new flavours to your little one. Make a batch, then store it the smarter way in your Consol Glass Preserve Jar (250ml) or Consol Glass Madrid Baby Container (130ml) - keeping every spoonful fresh, pure and exactly as you made it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Small pumpkin

  • 1/2 tsp Fresh thyme, roughly chopped

  • 1-2 cups Liquid - water, breast milk, formula, or stock

  • 1 tsp Olive oil (optional)

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper or a silicone mat.

  2. Carefully slice off the top of the pumpkin, then cut it in half lengthways. Scoop out the seeds and strings.

  3. Cut the pumpkin into smaller chunks and place them skin-side down on the baking tray. Lightly brush with olive oil, if using.

  4. Roast for 45- 60 minutes, or until the flesh is very tender and easily pierced with a fork.

  5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly, then peel away the skin.

  6. Transfer the pumpkin to a blender or food processor, then add the thyme and blend together until smooth.

  7. Gradually add liquid (¼ cup at a time), blending until you reach a silky, baby-friendly consistency.

  8. Let the purée cool completely before serving or storing in a Consol Glass Preserve Jar (250ml) or Consol Glass Madrid Round Baby Container (130ml).
